A Rare Invitation into Lowland Whisky Heritage
Nestled in the rolling hills of Scotland's Lowlands, Bladnoch Distillery is a beacon of whisky tradition and innovation. Established in 1817 by John and Thomas McClelland, Bladnoch holds the distinction of being one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries. With over two centuries of heritage, it has weathered periods of prosperity and adversity, including multiple closures and ownership changes. In 2015, Australian entrepreneur David Prior acquired Bladnoch, breathing new life into the distillery and setting it on a course that blends its storied past with a vibrant future.
One of the most exclusive offerings to emerge from this renaissance is Bladnoch's Private Cask Experience - an opportunity for whisky connoisseurs to participate in the creation of their own bespoke cask of Bladnoch Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

The Private Cask Experience: Crafting Your Own Legacy
Each year, selected clients are invited to participate in Bladnoch's Private Cask Experience, making this program one of the most exclusive of its kind. Participants collaborate closely with Bladnoch's acclaimed Master Distiller, Dr. Nick Savage, in a personal virtual masterclass to select the precise spirit style and cask type that aligns with their taste preferences. Options include ex-Bourbon, ex-Red Wine, ex-Sherry Oloroso, each offering a unique maturation journey for the whisky.
Once the cask is filled, it is stored in Bladnoch's historic bluestone warehouses, where it will mature for a minimum of 12 years under the careful stewardship of the distillery team. Owners are not left to simply wait; they receive three 100ml samples at different stages of maturation, along with annual tasting reports from Dr. Savage, allowing them to track the development of their whisky. The Private Cask Experience starts at £12,000, with pricing varying based on cask type and size. Cask owners can eventually bottle their matured whisky in Bladnoch's signature packaging.
An Immersive VIP Experience
Beyond the cask itself, owners are welcomed to Bladnoch for an intimate, immersive visit. The Private Cask Experience includes a tour of the estate, a whisky crafting masterclass, and the opportunity to taste directly from their own cask. The experience is capped with a private lunch hosted by Dr. Nick Savage and Distillery Manager Neil Bulloch, set among the maturing casks.
Membership also grants entry into Bladnoch's prestigious 1817 Club, offering exclusive access to rare bottlings, private events, and VIP experiences around the globe.

Rare and Vintage Opportunities
In partnership with Beamish International, Bladnoch extends the opportunity for discerning collectors to acquire exceptionally rare older casks. Notably, the 2000 and 2005 vintage casks are among the most coveted. These vintages, carefully curated for single cask release, reflect the pinnacle of Bladnoch's craftsmanship and rarity.
A Timeless Investment in Whisky Heritage
Bladnoch's Private Cask Program offers more than just ownership of a cask—it invites individuals into the very heart of Scottish whisky heritage. It is a journey that combines personalisation, exclusivity, and a deep connection to a distillery that has stood the test of time. For those fortunate enough to participate, it is an opportunity to create a truly personal legacy, one that can be savored for years to come.
